How it began
Dynamic is not just a musical term, but one that emulates change, contrast, growth, or development. A passion in music helped develop a sense of detail and adaptation to change. Much like music, your turf can adapt to changes.
Stemming from a lifelong affinity for music, my passion began with seeing the “Melodies of Christmas” at Proctors Theater when I was just 10 years old. My father bought tickets when he worked at SRG in Schenectady and brought our family to see this annual holiday performance. An elementary level trumpeter at the time, I remember telling my father that I would be on that very stage someday. Someday ended up coming in 2003, when I auditioned and won a spot in the Empire State Youth Orchestra. Hard work studying privately with Wesley Ecker of the Glens Falls Symphony Orchestra paid off. From my tenure with ESYO from 2002 to 2005, I set out to obtain a performance degree at the University of Massachusetts - Amherst. A passion of music was now my lifestyle. Professor Eric Berlin, not only gave me the tools needed to be a performer, but gave me the passion back for golf. At my time at UMass, I was employed by the Orchards Golf Course, which was home to the 2004 U.S. Women's Open. Turf management practices were now part of my repertoire, as well as a bountiful golf career. Refining my golf skills at Hank Haney’s Golf Academy in Connecticut, this gave life to understanding both golf and turf management.
Once graduated from UMass, my musical career led me to many freelancing gigs throughout the Capital District and beyond, with the Albany Symphony Orchestra, Glens Falls Symphony Orchestra, Pioneer Valley Symphony Orchestra (MA), Funk Evolution, and Park Playhouse Productions, to name a few. My passion for music and turf commingled and I had more resources at my fingertips. I spent time at Jim Girards Landscape, learning product application. In 2013, I began my time with Saratoga National Golf Course, learning more about turf management through golf course Superintendent, Joe Lucas. My desire to know more and ask questions led me to develop my own business, bringing turf management skills to meet the demands of both residential and commercial clients. My goal is to build relationships and provide high quality services to meet your needs, whether it be through turf, or music!
